- Pam Mackenzie Review added: 2017.12.11★ ★ ★ ★ ★We recently stayed at Dumfriess House for a few nights in very comfortable accommodation, not in the lodge, though, which we loved on a previous visit. Lovely gardens to walk in, well treed, with some truly gigantic firs. What an amount of work has been done here in recent years.
There are various restaurants, the food was excellent. The staff throughout are marvellous, helpful and informative. Everywhere there is high quality and good taste.
There is also the fine idea of facilities for artists-in-residence, whom you may have the good fortune to meet around the place. Do take a conducted tour of the main house.
Constructive comment – in common with some other venues, road signs do need to be provided at really quite distant intersections. The location is not near Dumfriess.
